Celebrities Bring Home the Baby Bling, and You Can Too

The Golden Globes Celebrity Parent Gifting Suite revealed how Hollywood parents are stocking their nurseries.

Photo by Vanessa Martin Guidon The “Bling Breast Pump” by Spectra Baby USA was a huge hit. What celebrity nursery would be complete without the mammary-shaped and bedazzled device with genuine Swarovski Crystals, in pink or blue?

What celebrity nursery would be complete without a Spectra “Bling Breast Pump”? It’s a mammary-shaped and bedazzled device with genuine Swarovski Crystals, in pink or blue. It only costs adoring parents about $130 for the manual edition, to $700 for the top-of-the-line, hospital strength version, all adorned with crystals, and featuring Spectra Baby's state-of-the art, smooth, simple and almost silent technology. Only in Hollywood.

That was definitely the most eye-popping item at Jayneoni Moore's 2014 Golden Globes Luxury Gifting Suite for Celebrity Parents, who flocked to the event, little ones in tow. There aren’t a lot of family events surrounding the Golden Globes, so this one was especially popular with the family set.

Another item that appears to be celebrity nursery must have is the “Co-Zee,” which is sort of a clip-on, roll-up curtain for a stroller or car seat that keeps the sun, and the prying eyes of the paparazzi, out of the baby’s face.

Myriad celebrities stock their nurseries with organic cotton baby clothes from Sharon Oved’s extremely reasonably priced L’ovedbaby line. Among them are Celine Dion, Brooke Shields, Milla Jovovich, Fred Savage, Tiffani Thiessen, Laila Ali, Rachel Griffiths, Hillary Duff, J.R. Martinez and Halle Berry, who loves them so much she’s been known to order 200 pieces at a time. We really hope her help washes them and gives them away after each wearing, because when the nursery is that well stocked, the fashionable baby never has to wear the same thing twice.

Experts are often found in the well-stocked celebrity nursery, people like children’s sleep consultant Rebecca Michi, who offers her services via Skype, and Michaela Weilert, who will teach you and your baby how to communicate with each other via sign language, ala Meet the Fockers.

One thing you probably won’t find in a celebrity nursery is a Diaper Genie. New and clever cloth diaper systems were prevalent in the suite, each with unique features. Tidy Tots are designed with organic hemp no-fold diapers, and flushable liners made of cornstarch. Cotton Babies has a Bum Genius diaper line festooned with modern art. Both companies support charitable causes. And donate thousands of diapers.

Almost as important as nursery furnishings are the nursery fashions. Emily Hsu of Au Lait has created a chic, comfortable and comely line of breast feeding fashions that mothers will be tempted to wear long after their wee ones are weaned. “The dress I’m wearing now? I slept in it last night as a night gown!” Hsu enthused. “And I’m not even nursing.” Yes, it is that cute. But it has celebrity prices – her pieces from from about $150 to $400.

Alfonso Ribeiro's Loved Baby

Photo courtesy of L'ovedBaby The Golden Globes Celebrity Parent Suite attracted totally engaged fathers, such as Alfonso Ribeiro from Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Silver Spoons, and his wife, shown here with L'ovedBaby clothes founder Sharon Oved

But perhaps the most essential thing to be found in celebrity nurseries these days is a proud Daddy. The Golden Globes Celebrity Parent Suite was full of totally engaged fathers, such as Galen Gering from Days of our Lives, Alfonso Ribeiro from Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Silver Spoons and Scott Wolf from Party of Five. Businesses like Daddy & Company, which makes Daddy Scrubs, camo backpack diaper bags and daddy toolboxes were there to accommodate them.
