Buy Napa Valley’s Quixote Winery
Calling all wine lovers: If you’ve ever dreamed of owning your own winery, here’s your chance. Quixote Winery, a 42-acre estate in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, is on the market.
The property was originally part of the historic Stags’ Leap Winery, later breaking off into a smaller, sustainable operation producing Petite Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 8,000-square-foot winery – permitted to hold 20,000 gallons – was designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, known for his use of irregular forms and bold colors. The building is a prime example of his signature aesthetic, with its curved walls, colorful columns and eye-catching gold onion dome, meant to “elevate man’s sense of himself.”
Contrasting the playful design of the winery, the estate’s one-bedroom home is clean and modern with Japanese influences. Designed by architect and Napa local Howard Backen, the home is cantilevered slightly over a 49-acre private pond, creating a surreal feeling of floating over the water.
