Atlanta's Most Expensive Home for Sale
While the Southern city has plenty of multi-million dollar listings, nothing quite compares to this 20-room $48 million estate.

The palatial estate has many romantic stone terraces and staircases for the new owners to descend, hopefully in a white flowing gown.
For years the most expensive listing in Atlanta was the home of Lee Najjar, aka “Big Poppa” of the
Real Housewives of Atlanta. Najjar listed his 40,000-square-foot mansion on the MLS back in 2009 for $25 million; over the past five years the price was randomly raised and lowered. It never sold, though it was used as a filming location several times and can be seen in
The Three Stooges,
MTV Cribs and the aforementioned
Real Housewives of Atlanta.

back in the
of 2013. In January the home was reportedly foreclosed to the lender and was then put back on the market for $15.9 million.
The most expensive listing in Atlanta is now a secluded estate that sits on a whopping 18.6 private acres. Offered at $48 million, the limestone and brick English manor-style home is located right on the Buckhead/Sandy Springs line near the Chattahoochee River. Built in 1993, the owners christened it Chestnut Hall, and every inch was recently either updated or renovated. It also has a one-bedroom pool house as well as a four-bedroom guesthouse surrounded by the formal gardens and a vast collection of statuary.
Inside the main house, you’ll immediately notice the vast collection of antiques, works of fine art and other antiquities from around the world. You might even spy a Picasso or a Toulouse Lautrec. Those works and the furniture are all included in the multi-million dollar price tag.
Chestnut Hall’s owners said that their favorite part of the home is the huge Jerusalem stone terraces, the bright solarium and the cozy library. They also love it for its privacy and the
charm coupled with the
conveniences of today. It also has a huge Pebble Tec saline pool, a playground and two private drives.
