A Softer Take on Contemporary Design in Dallas
We’re fans of contemporary architecture here at Cool Houses Daily, but we have to admit, sometimes contemporary designs can be a bit harsh. Not this house in Dallas, though – designed by Bodron+Fruit, this abode can only be described as soft and inviting.

From the sun-filled living room to the spa-style master bath, the 6,995-sqaure-foot residence drew us in with its warm white oak floors, subtle lighting and simple, steel-framed windows. We’re obsessed with the home’s library: There’s just something so comforting about a room full of books, and this room is lined with bookcases from floor to ceiling – enough to hold 5,000 volumes.
The rest of the home is equally lovely, and many rooms lead directly to the infinity saltwater pool, glass-walled cabana and artful landscape. Designed by MESA, the 1.3-acre grounds are dotted with native trees, plus blooming trees, shrubs and flowers that provide year-round color and privacy from the street.
