The Ritz-Carlton brand is synonymous with both luxury and impeccable service. Part of the brand's allure stems from a fine attention to detail, including the design scheme. In particular, the interior design throughout the six hotels in the Caribbean and Mexico, channel the local tropical culture in an elegant and sophisticated manner.

"With soothing color palettes, airy textiles and fabrics, and an overall feeling of tranquility, The Ritz-Carlton captures the Caribbean's tropical lifestyle in an upscale fashion," says Raymond Jimenez, co-founder of high-end interior design firm RS3 Designs

Jimenez and firm co-founder Shannon Scott, describe stand-out interior design elements in the following six hotels:

1. Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Photo by: Don Riddle for The Ritz-Carlton With 100 spacious guestrooms and 14 one-bedroom suites that sit directly onto the beach, the interior design allows the tropical backdrop to take precedence through a complete indoor and outdoor experience. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors entirely disappear onto seamless ocean views, while outdoor shower gardens, indoor showers with deep soaking tubs, individual infinity-edge pools, rooftop pools and cabanas create a luxury experience.

"We love the way the lines blur between the outside and inside," Scott says. "The combination of the neutral color palette and warmth of the walnut wood doors and trim create a Zen-like balance, and the layout of the furniture allows you to appreciate the aspects of the views."

2. The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

Photo by: Don Riddle for The Ritz-Carlton Suites feature one and a half baths, a spacious living room and boutique bath amenities. Two Ritz-Carlton Suites deliver panoramic ocean views and rooms as expansive as they are elegant, distinguished by a master bedroom, a living room and a private balcony facing the sea with outdoor showers.

"This space is more family-orientated and has great pops of color," Jimenez says. " Yellow works well in this room because it gives the space an inviting and energetic feel."

3. The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas

Photo by: Don Riddle for The Ritz-Carlton From its West Indies decor to the “spice-infused” scents present throughout the room, all elements of this uniquely designed club lounge at The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas have been created to capture the island’s tropical feel, while embracing its natural resources.

"The design in this space works great with the moldings and ceiling details," Scott says. "The yellow paint and repetition of the yellow details in the fabric of the chairs bring the design together. The wood floors work well with the tables and chairs, but what really brings the wood tones all together, is the use of the bamboo details in the window valance."

4. The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan

Designed by Jeffrey Beers international, decor includes a blend of soft color tones, sleek details and shell mosaics in the reception area, as well as sweeping contemporary chandeliers made from crystal and polished metal.

"This stunning white concept throughout the space overwhelms you with a sense of purity," Jimenez says. "This design is flawless."

5. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman

Hues of bright white mix with silver, charcoal and gray to create an iridescent and seductive vibe.

"This is an example of a stunning monochromatic color palette that works within a box-like space," Scott says. "When entering the spa you want to feel relaxed and soothed, and this space has accomplished this through certain elements within the design, like the clean white textured panels on the walls and lockers. The gray linen sofas and silver leafing on the ceiling make the space feel cool and comfortable, yet rich and sophisticated at the same time."

6. The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun

Photo by: Don Riddle for The Ritz-Carlton Guestrooms and suites at The Ritz-Carlton Cancun exude an elegant simplicity with lavish carpet reflecting tropical waves from the sand, as well as bright white goose down bedding, upscale furnishings and silver accents.

"This design is classy, elegant and subtly refined," Jimenez says. "With shimmery silks and linens on the bed, window treatments and floors, this suite is comfortable and luxurious. Repetitive patterns on the balcony railings and artwork create consistency."
