In the city where grunge was born, a vibrant music and arts scene continues to grow. The area is home to world-class theaters and concert venues. Seattle's location makes the city an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Nearby mountains provide excellent skiing in the winter and hiking throughout the rest of the year. The Puget Sound and area lakes provide boating opportunities all year round. If you can wait out the dreary winters, the sun will come out and Seattle delivers some of the most brilliant blue-sky days you'll ever see.
