There were 1,188 housing units at an average density of 84.2/km² (217.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 50.71% White (U.S. Census), 46.73% African American (U.S. Census), 0.12% Native American (U.S. Census), 0.94% Asian (U.S. Census), 0.03% Pacific Islander (U.S. Census), 0.67% from Race (United States Census), and 0.79% from two or more races. Hispanic (U.S. Census) or Latino (U.S. Census) of any race were 2.56% of the population.
