As of the census of 2000, there were 4,351 people, 1,606 households, and 1,178 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,452.0 people per square mile (949.1/km²). There were 1,762 housing units at an average density of 993.0/sq mi (384.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.89% White (U.S. Census), 3.63% African American (U.S. Census), 1.03% Native American (U.S. Census), 0.25% Asian (U.S. Census), 0.05% Pacific Islander (U.S. Census), 1.36% from Race (United States Census), and 1.79% from two or more races. Hispanic (U.S. Census) or Latino (U.S. Census) of any race were 2.55% of the population.
