The racial makeup of the village was 74.86% White (U.S. Census), 18.95% African American (U.S. Census), 0.72% Native American (U.S. Census), 0.10% Asian (U.S. Census), 0.98% from Race (United States Census), and 4.40% from two or more races. Hispanic (U.S. Census) or Latino (U.S. Census) of any race were 3.81% of the population.
There were 1,064 households out of which 44.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were Marriage living together, 20.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
