Several large potted cactus and palmettos add desert-friendly landscaping to the outdoor pool area of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky's Scottsdale home, perfect for cooling off in the hot Arizona heat.

Hockey great Wayne Gretzky has put his Spanish-style compound in Scottsdale, Ariz., on the market for $3.395 million. The NHL star, who retired in 1999, originally purchased the estate in 2003. The luxurious resort-style home, which includes a three-bedroom main house and a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse, is ideal for entertaining. It sits on one acre of land in the very secluded Arcadia development. The exposed wooden beams, high ceilings, ornate chandeliers and beautiful outdoor pool and patio create a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. Gretzky also owns homes in California and sold his thousand Oaks property in 2006 for $18.5 million.
