Realtors will rarely admit that anything bugs them. They don't want to come off as complaining. For most real estate agents -- certainly the great and good ones -- customer service is something they take a lot of pride in. They'd make great actors in deodorant commercials. They never want you to see them sweat.
But a real estate agent is a human being. If you prick them, or accidentally back up your car over them, they will bleed. And in all the details, the stress, the rush, the excitement, the fervor, the frenzy -- it can be easy to forget that behind that smile and underneath that professional demeanor lurks not just a human being but someone who may have a spouse, kids, pets, their own mortgage and bills to pay, hopes, dreams and goals.
Forget that, and it honestly may not matter much in the end -- if they're a good Realtor, you'll probably still find a great house. But if you remember that you're dealing with a person and invest a bit of thoughtfulness into your Realtor relationship, it may give you an edge over all of the other homebuyers and sellers out there.
After all, if a real estate agent really likes you, they're probably going to work harder, faster and more efficiently for you, even if it's just on a subconscious level.
With that in mind, we're going to reveal some pet peeves that irritate real estate agents. If you want to stay in good stead with your Realtor and keep the good karma going, here are 10 things you should avoid doing.
